A scuola con l'iPhone / At school with the iPhone

Pensate sia impossibile? Invece è possibilissimo.

Da una recente circolare del Ministero dell'Istruzione, a partire dal prossimo anno, tutti i testi scolastici dovranno essere in versione mista o interamente scaricabili da Internet.

Una rivoluzione! Pensate a quanto di meno possa pesare lo zaino che finora gli studenti si sono trascinati sulle spalle.

Ma non solo! Pensate a quanto possono risparmiare le famiglie degli studenti sui libri di testo, che finora erano tra le spese maggiori ad incidere sul bilancio familiare.

E ancora! Pensate che divertente andare a scuola e fare lezione con l'iPhone o con l'iPad.

Negli Stati Uniti, in una università del Texas, ad ogni nuovo studente viene regalato un dispositivo elettronico per la lettura dei libri di testo.

Pensate possa accadere anche in Italia ma non riuscite ad immaginare quando sarà possibile?

Avete ragione. Esattamente così. Succederà anche in Italia....perché succederà....ma, come sempre, non è dato sapere quando.

Certo, potrebbe essere che il Ministero dell'Istruzione chieda alle famiglie di farsi carico di questa ulteriore spesa dell'e-reader. Anzi, qualcosa mi dice che è quasi certo che succederà così. E allora, per il primo anno, le famiglie spenderanno in e-reader ciò che risparmieranno sui libri.

Speriamo che gli e-reader non diventino fonte di spesa ricorrente visto che sono comunque apparecchi soggetti a obsolescenza. E speriamo soprattutto che i testi digitali siano offerti ad un prezzo almeno dimezzato rispetto alla loro versione stampata.

Officine Editoriali farà parte del mercato degli e-book ma non del mercato dei testi scolastici.

A revolution! Think of how much less can weigh the backpack that so far the students have dragged on their shoulders.

But not only! Think of how much students' families can save on textbooks, that so far were among tha major costs to affect the family budget.

And more! Think of how fun is going to school and have lessons with the iPhone or iPad.

In the United States, in a university of Texas, each new student is given an electronic device for reading textbooks.

You think might happen in Italy but you cannot imagine when it will be possible?

You are right. Exactly so. It will happen also in Italy....because it will happen.....but, as always, we don't know when.

Sure it could be that the Minister of Education asks families to bear this additional expense of e-readers. Indeed, something tells me it's almost certain that it will happen. And then, for the first year, families will spend in e-readers what they will save on books.

We hope that e-readers not become a source of recurring cost since they are anyway equipment subject to obsolescence. And we hope in particular that digital texts are offered at a price at least half the compared printed version.
